AnimagiC is a German anime convention that celebrates Japanese pop culture and its most iconic characters with live concerts, cosplay competitions, anime screenings and more. From manga to film, from games to ice skating, AnimagiC has it all.
It takes place during the last weekend of August. The location is an exhibition hall in Bonn (Germany) where most of the convention’s events take place, such as the Dealer’s Hall, main stage, cosplay stage, arcade corner and artist alley. Every year the convention attracts more than 4,000 visitors.
AnimagiC’s guests of honor are usually voice actors or singers who are famous for their work in Japan. This includes the likes of Satoshi Hino, who voices Kiba Inuzuka from Naruto or Yuki Kaji, who is known for his portrayal of Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan.
They are, of course, accompanied by Japanese composers, illustrators and designers of video games, manga or anime and other special guests such as German voice actors.
The convention also features a karaoke contest, an artist alley and a huge cosplay gathering in the evening.
What to Expect at AnimagiC
The convention is divided into four parts:
- Anime/Manga(focusing on Japanese animation and comics)
- Gaming (featuring video games from Japan and the rest of the world)
- Making (containing workshops for cosplay, manga and illustration) and
